Dr. Leo Perez is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with more than two decades of experience in complex surgical care of the face, jaw, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
After 20 years of distinguished service in the United States Navy, Dr. Perez founded The Studio TMJ + Maxillofacial Surgery with the vision of establishing a practice dedicated to delivering advanced surgical care with precision, compassion, and integrity.
Throughout his career, Dr. Perez has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of complex conditions involving the jaw, facial bones, and oral structures, including TMJ disorders, corrective jaw surgery, dental implant reconstruction, facial trauma, and advanced dentoalveolar surgery.

Military Service and Surgical Leadership
During his military career, Dr. Perez served as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon in some of the most respected medical institutions within the United States military healthcare system.
He practiced at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he treated complex surgical cases and cared for active-duty service members.
Dr. Perez later became Program Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Walter Reed, where he was responsible for training and mentoring the next generation of surgeons.
His leadership and dedication to surgical education also led to his appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where he contributed to the education of both medical and dental professionals.
In addition, Dr. Perez served as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon aboard the USS Nimitz (CVN-68), providing surgical care to service members in operational environments.
These experiences shaped the discipline, precision, and commitment to excellence that define his approach to patient care today.
